We successfully participated in the 7th EMES International Research Conference on Social Enterprise, which took place on Sheffield Hallam University, United Kingdom, on 24-27 June 2019. The theme of the conference was the sustainable development through social enterprises, with cooperative and voluntary actions. On November the 16th 2019, as part of the GLOBAL CHILDREN’S DESIGNATHON, 1200 children from 40 different cities from all over the globe will come together to design solutions for a better world. Stimmuli is the host of this event in the city of Thessaloniki!  With the support of the Labattoir project, Stimmuli is organizing this very special day whereby children will work on the theme of "Food and Climate Action", a Sustainable Development Goal topic relevant to all of us. During this day, children will imagine sustainable solutions around this issue, build prototypes and present them to each other via a live connection. Early in September 2019, Stimmuli together with the Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of central Macedonia and Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen Nürnberg organised a teacher’s training workshop. 56 teachers attended the workshop and received information and guidance on how to experiment with Social Innovation Education (SIE) in their own settings. Overall, the discussions held during the workshop enabled teachers to get to grips with SIE but most importantly brought to surface some “expected” challenges that they may face as a result of : i) teachers established teaching practices and the need to change their instructional style, step back and let students lead the way, ii) difficulties in understanding the wider concept of social innovation iii) existing attitudes and narrow perceptions towards linking entrepreneurship and school education. October 2018 was the month that the first NEMESIS co-creation labs launched in three schools in Thessaloniki. Co-creation labs aim at helping students to understand how social problems can be transformed into challenges! Also, how students through collective efforts can bring positive change! Alexander Theodoridis, a passionate Social Innovation Practitioner, was there to inspire students and introduce them to Social Innovation. Students collaborated with teachers, parents and our Social Innovator and co-created empathy maps in relation to local sustainability challenges. On the 30th of June and 1st of July, we are hosting the first Change Shapers programme in Greece. The program aims to: EMPOWER young people to be change shapers by bettering understanding concepts of power, their ability to influence and through learning social activism skills. SHAPE positive social change in local communities by strengthening community voices and increasing the diversity of these voices to include migrants and young people. INTEGRATE migrants into their local communities by creating opportunities for migrants and local citizens to learn from one another and their diverse skills, experiences and backgrounds. On the 11th and 12th of June 2018, STIMMULI is hosting in Thessaloniki an international professional development workshop aiming to introduce teachers of primary and secondary schools to social innovation education. Social Innovation and education experts and practitioners are coming together to offer a unique training experience that will increase teacher's capacities and confidence in using collaborative learning techniques and incorporating social innovation education in their teaching practices. Participants are coming from Spain, Portugal, Germany, France, UK and Greece to share knowledge, ideas and experiences. The NEMESIS kick off meeting took place on the 10th and 11th of October 2017 in Nuremberg, where the 13 partners from 7 different EU countries gathered to know each other and begin the project high-level planning. During the kickoff, communication and management issues were addressed through discussions and the first time plan was set according to the project objectives along with the assignment of roles and responsibilities among partners. During the second day, EC project officer Mrs Hinano Spreafico covered all the financial and administrative aspects and provided useful advice to the consortium for a successful project implementation.
