Description

The pioneer project will add to the ultimate aim to fight climate change, tackling the ever-increasing concern of Food Waste. It aims at designing an innovative educational curricula, that will help school teachers and students to become familiar with sustainability awareness in topics as food waste, sustainable food consumption, food security, environmental citizenship etc. The implementation of the project will incorporate Experiential and Project-based learning, Maker Education and Youth Participation Methodologies to school teachers and students, in order to foster green and 21st century skills.

Objectives

The objectives of the project are the following:

  • To transform students, teachers, parents and local community actors into true agents of change, into active and responsible citizens, in topics as Food Waste.
  • To develop relevant green skills that will enable students and teachers, to understand the impact of food systems on the environment and climate change but at the same time to adopt more sustainable attitudes.
  • To support teachers by investing on their continuous professional development, enabling them into using more diverse and adapted teaching methodologies in their settings.
